2. Hope
Inspired by Psalms 42

I am a stranger in a universe of light.
You, O Spirit of Life, my rock,
Why have you forgotten me?
Why do I mourn as tormentors mock?

As a deer longs for flowing streams,
So longs my soul for you.
My soul thirsts for life and love,
Yearning to see your face once more.

My soul is cast down, deep calls to deep,
The thunder of your waves has gone over me.
By day, let your love warm my skin,
By night, sing me a lullaby of quiet hope.

AA Step 2—We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
